Terms & Conditions
Young Musician Academy Terms and Conditions/Policies and Procedures
Young Musician Academy School of Music & Arts LLC seeks to maintain a professional presence at all times. We may update these Terms, Conditions, Policies and Procedures at any time in order to improve the level of service we offer, as well as insure our families/clients of our commitment to serve them in excellence at all times.
Term of Commitment
The term of commitment begins on the date of enrollment, or the date this document is received and agreed to (whichever comes first). The length of the term is determined by the number of lessons paid for. Ex: a student who pays for a 3-month lesson package/bundle is committed to the full term of 3 months. A student who pays for a 1-month plan is committed to the full term of one month. A student who pays for a Semester or Summer Package, consisting of 8 lessons or more, is committed to fulfill the term or the amount of lessons purchased. As stated in our Refund Policy below, Young Musician Academy does not refund Semester or Summer Packages. You will be asked to agree to this commitment before you book and purchase a package. Students who renew lessons by purchasing another lesson/session or plan will automatically renew their commitment for the length of that term. The only circumstances that will allow the student to break the term of commitment are unforeseen illnesses and family emergencies. In the case of financial hardship, communication must be made or we reserve the right to pause all lessons/classes until the student account is made current.

5. Seasonal Performances/Recitals & Productions
Private music students will have opportunities to perform in recitals and seasonal performances 2 times each year. Parents will be notified of the location, date and time of performances well in advance. It is important that students have opportunities to perform what they’ve learned in front of an audience. Performances allow students to develop their stage presence, performance skills and confidence! Virtual recitals will take place for our online students as well! We will have an opportunity for students from all over the world to perform for their families and other students! Parents help us to encourage our students to glorify God with their gifts and talents and share them with others!
Legal Procedures
Media Release
Young Musician Academy of Music & Arts LLC will take photos and videos regularly of student lessons, classes and camps, both online and on-site. These photos and videos are used regularly to promote the school via flyers, newsletters, ads via the school website: www.youngmusicianacademy.net and YMA social media platforms (Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube). You will be required to sign a Media Release at the time of enrollment/registration granting or not granting permission for your child to be included in any media released to the public with the sole purpose of promoting Young Musician Academy and Zamar Academy of Worship and Arts.
Beginning June 1st, 2025, all virtual lessons will be recorded for the sole purpose of allowing students to have a reflection of the lesson. Recordings will never be shared or used outside of the lesson between the teacher and student. Students will have access to recorded lessons for the duration of their term of commitment. Recorded lessons can be accessed within the student portal only.
Virtual lessons are currently offered through the platform, Google Meet. A personalized link is shared via the student portal at the time of registration and enrollment. This link is not to be shared with any other person, other than the student enrolled and parents or guardians of the student. If at any time the link is used by another person other than the enrolled student, we reserve the right to end the virtual lesson for the sole purpose of providing security and safety to all of our families, as well as our teachers.

Student Responsibilities
Materials
The teacher will provide students with an invitation to create an account on the student portal, where all music books, videos, audio, and other materials needed for lessons can be accessed once the student is fully enrolled. Each private piano student is responsible for having a keyboard or piano in the home to meet the requirement for weekly practice time. Virtual students must have a computer or tablet (mobile phones are limited in their audio capability for virtual lessons) with a 2-way camera and a strong internet access. These tools are required for a successful virtual lesson. Voice students do not necessarily have to have a keyboard or piano, but it is highly encouraged. For optimal success, voice students will need to download a piano app on a mobile device, at the very least, so that they can practice technique with a tuned instrument. It is encouraged that all virtual students set up their “lesson space” in a room with bright lighting, and minimal distractions. It is also suggested that virtual music students purchase a headset w/ a microphone for optimal audio capability, but it is not required. Virtual piano students must have their camera showing the keyboard, as well as make sure the teacher can see and communicate with the student on the camera.
Practice
Young Musician Academy encourages every student to practice consistently for continued growth and development. Students who maintain the recommended practice time, and complete all assignments in between lessons will make noticeable progress. A space to record Lesson Practice time is available in the student portal to help with accountability and to encourage students to track their progress.
Attendance
Students are responsible for being on time each week for their scheduled in-person/virtual lesson. If a student’s lesson/class time is 4:00, and the student arrives or logs on at 4:05 (virtual lessons), the scheduled lesson will not go past 4:30. Students are encouraged to arrive or log on at least 5 minutes before the scheduled lesson begins to allow room for preparation, and trouble-shooting technical difficulties (for online students). There are often no breaks between classes, and the teacher cannot risk running into another class time. If a student is not available for their weekly lesson/class for any reason, it is the parent/student’s responsibility to notify the teacher at least 4 hours in advance.
Student Contracts
All students and parents (if students are minors) are required to agree to the Young Musician Academy of Music & Arts LLC Terms, Conditions, Policies and Procedures before the first class is officially booked. Your agreement serves as your acknowledgement of what’s set forth in this agreement. You may complete official registration and enrollment, as well as your student contract once your agreement is given. This agreement ensures that families have read and understand the business structure of Young Musician Academy of Music & Arts, and will honor how all classes at Young Musician Academy of Music & Arts are conducted. Thank you for taking the time to read, agree, and we especially thank you again for becoming a part of the Young Musician Academy family!
